The lake in front of the famous "Cuernos" of the blue mountains of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile is Lake Pehoe. It's really that color, and it's incredibly beautiful. Breathtaking isn't an exaggeration.
The famous W Trail goes around these mountains in this view. Also the well-known peak of Torres del Paine is behind these mountains on the right side of this photograph.
It's very remote. We rented an SUV and we had to drive on the rocky unpaved road to get to these areas (there are several different ways to get to the park) - but it was well worth it.

Gotta luv severe weather when it pops close to home and I don't have to travel very far. One concern was my truck. Diagnosed with wheel bearing and axle problems. I wasn't going to go to far.
Right off the bat, wall cloud was forming on the back edge of this supercell. Severe warnings were up, but this storm had other plans. It just decided not to move for about 25 mins and stayed right in place.
Quarter sized hail and I had a few bruises to prove it! Plus we had another lone cell just to the north of this one which would eventually get eat'n up by this cell but it sure was purdy to watch!
No nader this day, but structure, hail, and strong winds made this a perfect day for severe weather photography and videography!

After a long break, Kagami is back and eagerly awaited by those who have taken part in the previous events. The event is an immersive tale which you follow for clues via descriptive story telling that leads you on a trail to find pieces of the story. When finished, you can wander the paths by the creator booths nearby who have once again presented us with some high quality cool items. I've wanted to create Raijin for a while now so LANEVO's awesome drums gave me a good reason to go and finally do it. I added Lilithe' Nerthus tattoos to give a bit of interest to my chest and as always she includes a large range of different shades so you can mix and match to your tastes.

A part of Soll LeWit's Wall Drawing number 373: Lines in Four Directions (equal spacing on an unequal wall) covers the iconic grand staircase of The Kunstmuseum Den Haag (Formerly the Gemeente museum (Municipal Art museum, (1935 H.P. Berlage).
Shown here is not the entire Le Witt graphic. The museum states the following about him and the giant Wall drawing:
Sol LeWitt (1928-2007) is one of the founders of conceptual art and American Minimal Art. Minimal art aims to establish a relationship with the immediate environment using the simplest possible means. In doing so, the artist prefers to use simple, possibly found materials. LeWitt's wall drawings and sculptures are world-famous, as is his radical view that an idea for a work of art is more important than its execution. For example, he designs his wall drawings himself but has them executed by a team of assistants. In the 1960s, this conceptual thinking was a direct break with the past and an attack on the age-old principle of the artist as an individual genius.
In 1983, the museum acquired Wall drawing no. 373 by LeWitt. The drawing consists of parallel black and grey stripes. The diagonal and vertical lines run in four different directions and emphasize the height of the staircase in the Berlage building. In the spirit of conceptual art, LeWitt draws a diagram with instructions and leaves the execution to his assistants. Not the artist but his team travels to the destination to create the wall drawing: comparable to an architect who never actually executes a building himself. LeWitt created the design after receiving the technical specifications of the wall where his artwork was to be placed, along with photos and floor plans. He relies entirely on his team for the execution.
The artist also makes a certificate for the buyer of the work in which he records the idea for the drawing. This makes it possible to re-execute the drawing later. If the wall drawing itself disappears, for example, through overpainting, the artwork still exists as an idea on paper. This wall drawing was restored in 2000 after it had been painted over during the renovation of the building. In gratitude for the restoration, the artist donated a new series of wall drawings to the museum.
Sol LeWitt and the Kunstmuseum have a long history together. In 1968, the museum organized the first Minimal Art exhibition in Europe. Two years later, LeWitt's first solo museum exhibition in Europe followed. Since then, various works by the artist have been added to the museum collection. Examples include the five geometric shapes on the façade of KM21 and the murals in the hall of the Kunstmuseum.

For those who follow me, you know my affinity for B&W street shots. This is one of those rare situation where the light and the colors was just right. It was a hard choice which to post first, color or B&W.
If you follow Charlie's page you will of seen that the Tabby boys are now part of the family.
I had no intention of keeping any let alone three...omg but the moment Charlie accepted them I knew they weren't going anywhere.
He adores them all but by far Tex is his favourite and I adore Charlie for being the most awesome, loving, accepting cat I have ever had the pleasure to know.
He thinks it's awesome that he has three new brothers to play with. When Squirt has had enough he seriously plays with each of them, it's like he was meant to be a big brother and having a big family suits him and how he was supposed to live.

The photograph here is one of the most widely published in 2025. It was taken in the completely destroyed Gaza by Abdel Kareem Hana of Associated Press. Hana is not only a superb documentary photographer, but a truly brave human being putting his life on the line to bring the truth to the world of the consequences of this one-sided war on Gaza. He was also given the International Photography Award in 2025 for his series “Children of Gaza: Surrounded by War”.
I have taken a great liberty in adding the small nativity scene here. But I do so to honour Abdel Kareem Hana and the children of Gaza, who have had to witness scenes of utter devastation they neither deserved, nor should have experienced, because of these war crimes.

“Then Herod (the Jewish king), when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. In the legend of the nativity of the baby Jesus, three wise men came from the East (perhaps Persia, and maybe even as far as India). They were astrologers who had read the signs in the heavens that a new king was to be born in Judea. As men of diplomatic note, the wise men found the Jewish king Herod and informed him of their desire to find this special baby to honour him. Herod told the men that when they found the babe they should inform him of the whereabouts so that he too could pay homage. But the canny wise men knew what the jealous Herod was up to and did not return with the news. As a result a slaughter of innocents took place throughout the region, and only because the angel of the Lord had warned Joseph did the holy family escape to Egypt so that the baby Jesus’ life was spared.
Most children in Gaza are born into Muslim families, and they are also taught to respect the baby Jesus. What many Christians don’t understand is that there are many references to the prophet Jesus in the Quran and they are all respectful and honour him (and believe in a virginal conception). Here is the account of the nativity:
“When the angels said, ‘O Mary, truly God gives thee glad tidings of a Word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, high honored in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought nigh. He will speak to people in the cradle and in maturity, and will be among the righteous.’ She said, ‘My Lord, how shall I have a child while no human being has touched me?’ He said, ‘Thus does God create whatsoever He will.’ When He decrees a thing, He only says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is. And He will teach Him (Jesus) the Book, Wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel. And He will be a messenger to the Children of Israel.” (Surah Al Imran 3: 45-49).
I am not going to make a speech here about the current sad state of our world at the Christmas of 2025. Anyone who thinks seriously and ethically about what it means to be fully human should understand these issues. And every Christian should ask themselves in the light of their Gospels, what would Jesus have me to think and do? But equally, let me warn anyone who dares to use that now inflammatory phrase showing up in reactionary rallies, “Christ is King”, that you are judged not according to what you think about Jesus, but how your life reflects his Truth. As the adult Jesus said so potently, “Not everyone who says they follow me does, for by their fruit you will know them.” Only those who do what Jesus instructed us to do (Matthew chapters 5-7) can be called his disciples. So if there is hatred in your heart, deception and violent thoughts, a turning of a blind eye to cruelty, a lack of care for the poor and the outcast, a rejection of the immigrant and outsider, a belief in the superiority of your race or religion, then please understand this: You are not of Jesus Christ!
For Jesus blessed the little children 2000 years ago, and in the same way today would bless every innocent child, and especially those that are being slaughtered in the name of some false religious and political ideals.
That tiny baby born in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago, whose life was threatened directly by the then Jewish king, understands fully that every child - and especially those in war-torn regions - deserves the love and compassion of us all. If we can’t summon that in our hearts, then we are not ethical human beings created in the image of God. And may God have mercy on your soul.

This is from Day 2 of my 3 day road trip.
This place, known as "Bowling Ball Beach" along the Mendocino Coast has been on the bucket list for many years as well.
This beach is very unique with rocks unlike you've seen anywhere unless you happen to be in New Zealand. I've been here at least 2-3 times before with no good luck. The tides have to be just right and, during that time, the odds of catching a great sunset are really rare as this place can be very foggy.
I was in Lake Tahoe and heard from escaype we were in for another great sunset and, at the last minute, I checked the tides and realized it was gonna be as perfect as possible for this location, so drove almost 6 hrs to get here.
Upon arriving the tide was low...really low! There were tons of the Bowling Balls exposed, but without water flow, so went out a little bit and found a great set of balls. No pun intended! Lol

The pretty town of Carlingford lies on the Cooley peninsula, surrounded by the mountains of the same name, in Co.Louth, close to the border in the Irish Republic.
Founded by the vikings, its Norse name is " Kerlingfjoror "
which means a narrow inlet or sea hag.
The view is looking north across the ford towards the Mournes and Greencastle, Co. Down. The invisible border between North and South, runs down the centre of the lough. It has been invisible for 20 years and gone are the troops and the minesweepers patroling the lough on both sides, thanks to wonderful work and effort of the Irish and British governments, and the people who forgave so much to try and bring a lasting peace.
Lets hope that good sense prevails as I dont know anyone, north or south who wants a border on our island and what that could imply. 3500 died because of the trouble and it was not worth one drop of human blood.. Never again!!! There is no one here who hasnt been affected by it, myself included.
The ferry travels daily across the lough from Greenore to Greencastle and lots of tourists, cyclists and walkers go this way to exlore the area.
I intend to get back there in the Spring as I want to see so much more of this llittle known gem.

An administrator contacted me during the week bemoaning the fact that activity has fallen off in groups and blaming Flickr. I dont agree! Activity has fallen off because the members cant be bothered faving photos or they only do one photo of a particular member. I almost always Fave more than one. If someone Favourites one of my pics, I always check out their photo stream and Fave 2,3, 4 or more of theirs if I can find ones I like. It only takes a minute and most peope do respond. I would ask everyone to fave each others photos in as much as possible as it makes such a difference. I would never Fave a photo that I didnt think was good enough as its disloyal and gives a false impression. I expect the same treatment from others. So please do fave one anothers photos as it makes such a difference. I also go through quite a number of groups every week and try to Fave as many as I can though I understand it takes time. So do try to be generous!

Although the development time was longer here, the image appears flawless (no snowballs, no marble structures). Snowballs tend to occur in homogeneous areas. With negatives that have a structured background, such as here, the above-mentioned faults do not occur, or only after a much longer development time.

I haven't been particularly pleased with anything I've been shooting lately... I've been unispired, tired and overwhelmed, in general. Last night, in anticipation of a passing thunderstorm with the expectation of a rainbow following, I headed out to the slaughterhouse. I decided to go in and check out the pair of chairs I had left there, hoping to not find them either missing or smashed to pieces. I never got that far. I walked in, headed for the stairs with my flashlight and stopped in my tracks when I heard a THUD coming from upstairs, followed by more thuds and bangs and then a rolling noise... like a bowling ball rolling across the floor. For the first time, in all the years that I have been visiting this place, I was scared in there. I left. I stood outside and thought about it and said... No Way... I'm going back in... and I did. But, I didn't get any further. I actually started to feel nauseous and left there with a headache. I know there are black vultures that live there, but I'm pretty sure that they haven't taken up bowling. I have no idea what was going on in there and was not brave enough to investigate. I'm sure, eventually, I will go back in ... but it might be awhile.
And then, it rained... and there was a rainbow... and I missed it. Yeah, that's pretty much the way my days have been going lately. Such is life....
